A record number of adults over 55 came from across the United States through the Landmarks Elderhostel program to discover Philadelphia and its rich legacy of historic and cultural resources.

Some comments from participants…

“This has been a great program. The coordinating staff was great! Enjoyed all the lectures. We also visited the Barnes Foundation, Kimmel Center, and spent a full day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art since we stayed three extra days. I would come back to another program in Philadelphia. Great city. Particularly enjoyed Pixie Biddle and Ron Avery who coordinated.”

“All were exceedingly helpful and gracious- often went out of their way to provide for the needs and special requests. The hospitality and interesting programs made us want to return for future programs.”

“I enjoyed all of the program. Pixie Biddle and Ron Avery were very good. Having a flower show entrance before general public admission was the greatest.”

“We really appreciate the preparation and thoughtfulness in planning. Ms. Biddle, our director, thoughtfully helped my husband and me with (our) wheelchair when walking was difficult.”

“A very enjoyable and educational week. The Landmarks personnel were very professional and friendly. Plenty of varied activities and I felt that I had done a lot.”
